Before you decide to pursue the Matjka Cornish Rex Adoption Process, please do ample research on the Cornish Rex breed, in addition to visiting the behavior and care sections of this site.
At Matjka Cornish Rex, the kittens are our top priority, and our goal is to find each one the perfect fur-ever home. To ensure a seamless transition, our application and screening process is quite thorough.

Once you’ve completed your research and have fully decided on Matjka Cornish Rex, the next step is to fill out an application. We take the application process very seriously, so please be detailed and accurate in your answering of each question.
The next steps
Available Litters
Once a litter becomes available, we will begin the application process and pairing up the kittens with each of their new homes. We will begin sending out contracts and collecting deposits once the kittens are 5-6 weeks old unless other arrangements have been agreed upon.
Getting to Know you
Finding the purr-fect home for our kittens is Matjka’s top priority. As is such, before contracts are sent or deposits are collected, our breeder makes sure to speak directly to each potential family to ensure we are a good fit. An established relationship between breeder and client can be extremely beneficial. Our hope is to create relationships with our clients that last a lifetime!
Deposits & Contracts
If you have been selected to receive a Matjka Cornish Rex kitten, we will reach out to you with an electronic contract. This contract MUST be signed within 48 hours of receipt – no exceptions. Once the contract is signed, we will then accept the deposit.
Visiting
Matjka is a private cattery, therefore visiting hours are only available by appointment. We will try to be as accommodating with your schedule as possible. No visitors will be permitted in the cattery until the kittens reach 8 weeks old. This is a preventative measure to ensure the kittens health and well-being.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we are aware that many potential clients will be weary of traveling or visiting the cattery. Keep in mind that we are available 24/7 via our social media, and will post updates there daily. Do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Updates
Once the deposit is paid, Matjka will provide photos and videos of your selected kitten(s) each week. If you have any questions at all, please ask.
We want you and your new Cornish Rex to both be as comfortable with each other as possible before transporting them to their new home.
